Yummy Fruit Dip

Whenever summer rolls around, I'm always eager to break out the fresh fruit. And while I have to confess that I borrowed this recipe from a friend, I think you'll find it's a delicious compliment to almost any kind of fruit. (And it's super simple, which is always a requirement for me!)

Ingredients:

1 8oz brick of cream cheese
1 7oz jar of marshmallow creme

(Note: I've always heard/seen variations. Some people add in other ingredients as well, but this works just fine for us.)

Directions:

Allow the cream cheese to soften. Afterwards, mix with the marshmallow creme--I generally find that a hand-mixer is the best way to go.

Refrigerate mixture until ready to eat, and of course, refrigerate left-overs.

Enjoy!

  1. I had this at my wedding! Whenever I have different fruit at home, I just take a few spoonfuls of each(depending on how much fruit I've chopped), mix them together then add it to the fruit, the wetness of the fruit helps spread it around and then I serve it to us that way (instead of time consuming cutting of fruit into dippable pieces) Makes it so I just chop food. Love bananas, apples, pears, strawberries and grapes and sometimes I add coconut or almonds into the bowl.

  2. My mom adds a teaspoon of vanilla. Once she told me to add a tablespoon. I did, and it was HORRIBLE. Vanilla is a beautiful thing, but small doses, please.

I tried to save it, but nothing worked. The garbage disposal had a sweet treat that night.

That said, I absolutely love this dip. Mom made it for my brother's wedding, but I seem to have forgotten it at Melissa's.

  3. Well, yeah, it might not have been at my wedding--I'm pretty sure it was though, but I didn't get to eat a thing at my wedding (well, except the strawberry reject pieces I saved from going in the trash)--so I guess I can't say for sure it was at my wedding. :(

    Adding vanilla sounds yummy.

  4. I love the variations!!! It's actually got me quite hungry now. I think I'm off to try some recipe tweaking! ;o)
